Sometimes you just need to use generic search tools, sometimes you can find what you want by looking on dedicated web sites.
Here some pretty sources useful for your aims.
1) Google Advanced Image Search
Link: http://www.google.com/advanced_image_search
Google has an interface for Advanced Image Search, there are a lot of options, I mainly use these filters:
Link: https://www.tineye.com/
"TinEye is a reverse image search engine. It finds out where an image came from, how it is being used, if modified versions of the image exist, or if there is a higher resolution version."
It's installable also as a Chrome plugin.
Picserach is a service for searching images by keywords, it shows a great wall of results that you can refine by colors, size, orientation or type.
Doesn't offer any filter for licence or copyright.
